1. 'Son" McGee's Grocery Marker

Inscription. Verner McGee operated a meat market here from the 1930's to the late 50's. He and wife Virginia once lived above this store, and "Son" could always be found in those days with his sidekick, a short-haired terrier who rode shotgun on daily deliveries into the countryside. Before McGee, partners Will Le McElroy and R.T. Agnew were retain merchants and cotton buyers in this building in the early 1900's as The Agnew-McElroy Co.
