Location. 44° 53.434′ N, 70° 5.583′ W. Marker is in New Portland, Maine, in Somerset County. Marker is on Wire Bridge Road east of Stonewall Drive (Maine Route 27), on the right when traveling east. Touch for map. Marker is in this post office area: New Portland ME 04961, United States of America. Touch for directions.
 
More about this marker. When travelling north on Carrabassett Road, ME-27, turn right (east) onto River Road, ME-146. After 0.1 miles turn left on Old Kingfield Road and then after 200' turn right onto Wire Bridge Road. The bridge is 0.7 miles ahead, over the Carrabassett River.
