Captain Roald Amundsen
Discovered of the Northwest passage, June 1903 – August 29, 1905 and discovered of the South Pole Dec.14, 1911. He crossed the North Pole May 12, 1928 in the airship NORGE.
He was born in Norway July 18, 1872 and perished in the Arctic Sea June 18, 1929, bound on a rescue mission.
