1. Wilson County Training School Marker
Inscription. Wilson County Training School for African-American students operated on this site from 1923 to 1969. The Rosenwald buildings included a 1923 elementary school and a 1928 high school. In the 1950s the high school was replaced and the elementary school was remodeled. The last high school class graduated in 1969, and the building was demolished in 2000. The elementary school is now the Market Street Community Center.
