Inscription.  After our pioneers lived and made their fortunes on Bluff Street, many built substantial homes on Broadway or Cross (Western Ave.). These Oneida Street steps, built to aid their climb up the steep hill, were originally of stone from the bluffs. They were replaced with concrete in 1933.
