Inscription. The facade styling of this building was ambitious for the time and it helped to popularize the unique brick used as the building material. The bricks were made of clay for the Bend Brickyard west of town and fire white sand from the Ice Caves south of Bend. The bricks quickly became a status symbol for the building boom of the decade.
