1. Lone Oak Tree Marker
Inscription. On this site stood the massive tree for which the town of Lone Oak was named in 1900. The town, first known as Pepper's Mill, was renamed to obtain a local post office. The tree was cut down in 1903 and was used for a bonfire on Christmas night 1903. The area was originally home to eight families after being formed in 1875.
 
Erected 1989 by Lone Oak Lions Club.
