For Your Todays They Gave Their Tomorrow
The three bronze, and 5 black granite plaques mounted in this memorial park contain the names of 1,813 local men and women who have selflessly and honorably served in the armed forces of the United States of America from 1776 to 2012. Valiantly, but desolately 50 of these family members, once cherished friends and neighbors who in the spring of their life were takenre far, far away from the safety of our quiet hills and valleys that we call home. In hostile and friendless lands, through homesickness and constant fear they well suffered, and gave their life's blood to the protection of our precious national inheritance of a free land and the absolute safety of our families from all enemies and tyrants, never to return to us.
So let it be ever held with a determined grip, a steadfastness in our hearts, a true and forever commitment that we, the humble recipients of their heroic sacrifices and deeds, proudly, with heads bowed, reflect upon their youthful faces and solemnly and reverently remember their names in the whisper of a prayer.
