1. Lt. Orrin Russell Fox Heliport Marker
Inscription. Dedicated this twenty-seventh day of October Nineteen Hundred and Fifty by the citizens of the City of Pasadena in honor of the brave members of the United States Air Force living and dead who answer the call of service to God and Country to the end that causes of war be eliminated.
 
Erected 1950 by Citizens of the City of Pasadena.

More about this marker. The Lt. Orrin Russell Fox Memorial is located in the eastern end of Defenders Park. The City of Pasadena's website page for the city's memorials indicates that this is the third location for this memorial, noting that it was originally installed on the Pitch & Putt Golf Course at Carmelita Gardens, and then subsequently moved to the Pasadena Art Museum due to freeway construction.
 
Regarding Lt. Orrin Russell Fox Heliport. "First Lieutenant Fox was the pilot of a F-80C Shooting Star fighter interceptor with the 80th Fighter Bomber Squadron, 49th Fighter Bomber Group. On September 2, 1950, while on a combat mission northwest of Chinju, South Korea, his aircraft was in a steep dive to make a rocket pass and it failed to pull out. Originally from Colorado, family later moved to Pasadena, California."
