Honshu, Japan, Thanksgiving Day,
24 Nov 44

• To the last air battle in which the
73rd Bomb Wing struck alone. 62 B-29s
were met by 984 fighter attacks, Japan’s
most vigorous punch against B-29 forces.
Nine B-29s were lost. The well-defended target:
#357, Tokyo, 27 Jan 45

• To the day when tactics changed, the first
low level incendiary attack against major
industrial cities of Japan -- 10 Mar 45

• To the day in which the largest force
of B-29s were used: 853
