1. La Verne Bicentennial Liberty Bell Marker
Inscription. The original Liberty Bell, cast in 1752, continues to serve as a symbol of courage and freedom. In the bicentennial year of 1975, the White Chapel Foundry in London cast 100 duplicate bells, two for each state. California cities which secured Liberty Bell replicas are La Verne and Bakersfield. Through the effort of R.G. Harris, Rick Vanderbeck, La Verne Burns, and other members of the Bicentennial committee, citizens of La Verne have a lasting symbol of their heritage and freedom. May Freedom continue to ring in La Verne and our nation.

Erected by Historical Society of La Verne / SOLVE, and the City of La Verne.
