179 (3.32.1.07.93) Dwelling, 403 Central Avenue, raid 19th century. This is a two and one half story, frarae, raodified cruciform, hip roofed. Queen Anne house with gabled cross wings and a bracketed cornice having circles and rectangular designs in the fascia. The front portion of the house has a hip roof with flared eaves. The rear wing also has a hip roof. Gabled dormers with large corbel capped chimneys are at the north and east. There is also a large, center, corbel capped, brick chimney. On the south side there is a pedimented, gabled, chamfered cross wing with a Palladian window with carved wood sunburst design and bargeboard. The chamfered gable end with jigsawn brackets and drop pendants forms a three part bay with paired segmentally arched windows with Queen Anne lights on the front and single segmentally arched windows with Queen Anne lights on the sides. Keystone-like drop pendants are above the windows under the bracketed hoods. At the front there is a one story, projecting, three part bay with segmentally arched Queen Anne windows with fanlights and bracketwork. There is a double door at the entrance. Across the front and wrapping to the east is a hip roofed porch having paired turned posts, decorative turned balustrade, cross gable over the entrance, jigsawn braces, jigsawn brackets, and circle motif in the frieze. 2. 403 South Central Avenue Marker
roofed porte cochere with circle motif frieze, small cross gable having sunburst design on three sides, and paired square posts. There is a one and one half story, shed roofed entry for the porte cochere with detail like the front porch. The shed end of the entry has a hooded wheel window with colored lights; decorative shinglework surrounds the window. To the rear there is an attached, one story, summer kitchen with two doors. The house is covered with vinyl siding and has an asphalt shingled roof and a brick foundation.
