This statue honors Max Rosenn, Judge of the U.S. Court
of Appeals for the Third Circuit, for the unique vision
and leadership he has brought to his community,
profession, and this university; recognizes Joseph J. Savitz,
Esquire '48, and Eugene Roth, Esquire '57, for their
extraordinary service as chairmen of this university's
Board of Trustees; and acknowledges with appreciation
Trustee Stephen Sordoni and the law firm of Rosenn, Jenkins
& Greenwald for making these tributes possible and this
university's namesake a prominent part of this campus.

This is a reproduction of a statue of John Wilkes
sculpted by James Butler, R.A., R.W.A.,
F.R.B.S.
commissioned by the Trustees of the John Wilkes Memorial Fund
under the leadership of Dr. James Cope, M.D.,
and erected in the City of London in 1988.
