1. Virginia Legends Walk Marker
Inscription. "Bojangles" was the first African-American superstar entertainer, starting in Vaudeville as a dancer and becoming a movie actor. By 1908, he was earning $3,500 a week. His famous "stair dance" was invented spontaneously while we was receiving an honor from the King of England, who was atop steps.
