1. Virginia Legends Walk Marker
Inscription. Styron won the Pulitzer Prize for Literature as well as the William Dean Howells Medal from the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 1968 as a result of “The Confessions of Nat Turner.” He also wrote Sophie's Choice and won the National Book Award in 1980, which was made into a movie in 1982 and received five Academy Award nominations and the Best Actress Oscar.
