Northeast Orlando in Orange County, Florida — The American South (South Atlantic)
Orlando and Tainan, Sister Cities
Lake Eola Park
This huge black-marble stone was sculpted by the winds for over ten thousand years. It was discovered high in the mountains in Hua-Lien County on the eastern coast of Taiwan at an altitude of one thousand six hundred meters. It has been a major undertaking to remove this stone from the mountain heights, transport it to the sea port and prepare it for shipment.
There are two significant words chosen by Tainan Citys Mayor Su to be inscribed on the stone.
Filial To Parents.”
It is hoped that this piece of marble can be placed at a permanent location in your great city for public enjoyment and as a token of our Sister City affiliation and eternal friendship between two great cities.
Presented to Mayor Bill Frederick and the good citizens of Orlando, Florida, U.S.A.
Loyal To Country Filial To Parents
