As a quarterback and tight end at U.K., he won the 1976 SEC Championship. In the 1977 Peach Bowl, Ramsey was first-team all SEC and was third-team All American as QB at U.K. in 1977. Finished 10-1 and received the #4 ranking in the AP poll.
Ramsey also played two games on the basketball team at U.K.
Played Tight End for nine seasons for the Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders, New England Patriots, and Detroit Lions.
