1. San Jose Division Headquarters Marker
Inscription. The San Jose Division Headquarters of the Los Angeles County Forestry Department was constructed on this site in 1927. The office had command of all fire activity from Duarte to the San Bernardino County line, and from the boundary of the Angeles National Forest to the Puente Hills. The original building was removed in 1935 to make way for a new structure completed in 1936 and numbered Fire Station 64.

Regarding San Jose Division Headquarters. The town of San Dimas was originally part of Rancho San Jose, a Mexican land grant, whose boundaries were laid out on March 19, 1837, the feast day of St. Joseph, thus leading to the ranch being named after the saint.
