Inscription. For Edmund Pendleton, 1721-1803. A patriot statesman. Virginian. Member House of Burgesses 1752-1774. In the First Continental Congress. Governor Colonial Virginia 1774-1776. President Virginia Constitutional Convention, 1776, and President of Virginia State Convention that ratified Federal Constitution, 1788. Chief, State Court of Appeals, 1779-1803. County from Bracken and Campbell.
