Inscription.
This 5.6-acre site originally housed seven living quarters for Naval Officers serving the adjacent Naval Ordinance Plant in World War II. In January 1960, the housing units were transferred to the Army for use by Officers assigned to the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command and served that purpose for 30 years.

The property was deeded to The Salvation Army in February 2000. The housing was demolished and the present structure houses the homeless and provides basic needs for humanity.
