Inscription.
Captain J.W. Ripley
Lima Co RVN — 1967

"In combat
my Marines never disappointed me…
I remember them all"

That American Marines yet unborn know the inspiration of his example when they are called upon to lead in defense of their country.

We Marines of Lima Company, 3/3/3 "Ripley's Raiders" dedicate this to memorialize the courageous and inspiring leadership of Capt. John W. Ripley and to honor the Marines who fought the NVA with us in Northern Quang Tri Province, RVN, 1967. We maintained the fortitude to sustain the physical and mental requirements of United States Marines, suffered the loss of brothers, shared the brutal sacrifices and the dearly earned triumphs. We served with heroes.

"They gave all"

"Rest upon these boulders quarried from the rock pile, Northern Quang Tri Province, Republic of Vietnam. If you were with the Marines who walked in it's shadow, or are surviving family, look upon this monument and know, we and the heroes we served with, salute you."
