Inscription. Constructed by George Moeller and designed by noted architect Otto Wilhelmi (who also designed the nearby Strassberger Conservancy and multiple prominent homes in Compton Heights). Some of the businesses that once operated here include The Blue Bird Candy Shop, Velvet Freeze, Becker's Delicatessen, Murray Print Shop, Namendorf's Umbrella Luggage Shop and the Oriental Kitchen which opened in 1934. Oriental Kitchen which was the first Asian restaurant to locate in the commercial district.
