1. Saint Catharine Marker
Inscription. Cradle and Mother House of the Dominican Sisters in U.S. First settlement at St. Rose Farm, 1822. Known as St. Magdalen Academy from 1823 to 1851. Renamed, 1851, St. Catharine of Sienna. Mother Angela Sansbury, O.P., and Rev. S. T. Wilson, O.P., co-founders. Former buried in Columbus, Ohio. Latter in St. Rose. The Academy chartered, 1839. College in 1931.
 
Erected 1967 by Kentucky Historical Society and Kentucky Department of Highways. (Marker Number 1095.)
