1. Van Buren Hotel & Fassett House Marker

Inscription. On this site, in 1832, Harmon & Marinda Van Buren built a log house that developed into a hotel, bar, courthouse, and town hall. The house was replaced by the Van Burens with a substantial hotel that was destroyed by fire in 1867. In 1871, Isaac W. Fassett built the majestic Fassett House which offered housing and entertainment until its demise in 2005.
