Inscription. Early in the 1900s, Zion School was established, and one acre of land was purchased from the Johnson Family at this site. As attendance increased, additional acres were purchased from the W.H. Watts Family and the B.G. Ray Family. Three buildings have been erected. The first building burned. The second was replaced by a modern brick building in the mid 1920s. With the conclusion of the 1960~61 school year, Zion School completed its mission and was consolidated with the Pontotoc Separate School District.
