1. Forest Grove Presbyterian Church Marker
Inscription. In 1860 thirty~one members of the Camden Presbyterian Church petitioned the Presbytery of Central Mississippi to organize a church close to their homes near the Forest Grove Academy. After the petition was granted on November 23, 1860, Rev. R.E. Sherrill of Yazoo City was called as the first pastor, with J.C. Moore and C.H. Matlock as elders. This sanctuary was dedicated on June 13, 1863, ad the first regular worship service was held on June 14.
 
Erected 2010 by Mississippi Department of Archives and History.
