1. The Newells Jewelers Marker

Inscription.
The business began originally in Roxboro in 1888 by George Angel Newell. In 1905, his son William Henry Badger Newell, built this building. The Newells Jewelers operated by two subsequent Newell generations continuously at this location until October 2004.

In 2008, Hayden Wheeler Newell III, a descendant of initial builder, renovated the building with a loft apartment upstairs and a downstairs commercial space.

Erected 2016 by Person County Museum of History.
