1. Mason Valley Telephone and Telegraph Co. Marker

Inscription. Formed in the early 1890s and enduring a succession of owners. The "telephone" was introduced at Yerington in 1898. Dr. Granville Leavitt, Ed Lamb and JI Wilson were the principles in constructing the first line into town from Wabuska. Twelve miles to the north the property was later operated as the Yerington Electric Company and then as the Walker River Telephone Co. This building served as the office for the MVT&T.

Erected 1978 by Snowshoe Thompson Chapter 1827 E Clampus Vitus.
