1. Jewkes-Draper Home Marker
Inscription. English immigrant Samuel Jewkes operated a sawmill and a gristmill in Fountain-Green, Utah. His middle class home is constructed of heavy pine timbers connected with mortise-and-tenon joints and wooden pegs. He insulated the interior walls by laying adobe bricks between the rough timbers and applying lime plaster and whitewash directly to the exposed adobe surfaces. The exterior is clapboard. In 1879, Jewkes sold the home to Henry Draper.
