1. Paint Mill Marker
Inscription. A mill was built here in 1913 for drying and grinding iron ore. This iron ore powder was shipped worldwide for making red barn paint. Operations ceased in 1948.

View is westward on the divided 4-lane highway, about midway between Ontario Center Road and North Slocum Road. On Google Maps, the marker is barely visible in the reeds. Note that the reeds have been cut back.
