Inscription. Niels and Josephine Overlade Anderson had nine children, seven of whom survived to adulthood. A Swedish immigrant, Niels was renowned for his skills as a marksman, storyteller, ox trainer, puppeteer and leather braider. Their home was one of the first houses in Ephraim, Utah, to be built of fired brick. It began as a two-room dwelling with a sleeping loft but was later expanded to a four-room house. The Scandinavian architecture featured cheery, spring-like, interior colors to offset the dreariness of the cold winters.
