Por su galanteria e intrepidez conspicua a riesgo de su vida mas allá del llamado del deber.

Sargento Juan E. Negrón se distinguió por sus actos de galantería e intrepidez mientras servía como miembro de la compañía "L" del 65 regimiento de infantería de la tercera división de infantería. Durante operaciones de combate contra fuerzas enemigas armada en Kalmaeri, Corea el día 28 de abril de 1951. Dicha tarde, el sargento Negrón toma la posición más vulnerable en el flanco derecho de su unidad luego que las fuerzas enemigas habían penetrado la línea defensiva. Cuando el sargento Negrón fue notificado que se retirara. El se rehusó y continuó disparando hacia el enemigo, quienes habían penetrado el bloqueo de la carretera. Cuando dichas fuerzas enemigas se acercaron a su posición, el sargento Negrón lanzó varias granadas explosivas a coria distancia de su posición, parando de inmediato el ataque enemigo, el sargento Negrón

Negrón, su unidad y el ejército de los Estados Unidos.

[English translation:]
For his gallantry and conspicuous fearlessness at the risk of his life beyond the call of duty.

Sergeant Juan E. Negrón distinguished himself by his acts of gallantry and fearlessness while serving as a member of Company "L" of the 65th Infantry Regiment of the 3rd Infantry Division during combat operations against armed enemy forces in Kalmaeri, Korea on April 28, 1951. That afternoon, Sergeant Negron took the most vulnerable position on the right flank of his unit after the enemy forces had penetrated the defensive line. When Sergeant Negron was notified to stand down. He refused and continued firing at the enemy, who had penetrated the roadblock. When said enemy forces approached his position, Sergeant Negron threw several explosive grenades at a distance from his position, immediately stopping the enemy attack.
