Carillon Brewing Company
Beer was a drink enjoyed by virtually everyone in the 1800s. The nutritious and sanitary drink provided refreshment all day long. It was cleaner than water.
In the early 1800s, breweries like this one were beginning to dot the Dayton landscape. They were a sign of changing times when brewing transferred from the hands of the housewife to a big business endeavor. The change was meeting the needs of a growing city with a rising population of immigrants thirsting for the tastes of their homelands.
The brewery replicates the architecture of some of Dayton's original breweries and utilizes the brewing techniques and equipment of the mid-19th Century.
Built in 2014 in Carillon Historical Park.
