1. Tri-State Mining District Hoist Marker
The hoist was the powerful mechanical engine that propelled the ore bucket up and down the shaft which was the busy vertical highway of the lead and zinc mines. The hoist had tremendous power to dead lift a full ore bucket. In addition the hoist transported the miners, tools and explosives to the mine floor.Topics.
