1. Stevens Cotton Gin Marker
Inscription. This painting is a copy of a watercolor by Mary Helen (Nell) Stevens Richardson, which shows the gin in operation. Nell was a sister of Truxton Hubert Stevens Sr., grandfather of Angeline Stevens Sprott, who now owns this building and wall on which Ellaville's History Wall Mural is painted. The gin was built by Truxton's father, Joel Hampton Stevens. It was painted for Angeline Sprott in appreciation of the use of this "canvas" for Ellaville's History Wall.
