1. Holy Cross Parish Marker
Inscription.
This parish, established 1890, spurred the growth of Latonia community. Benedictine Sisters came here to teach in 1891. Original two-story church and school on west side of Longworth, now Church St. Present church was completed, 1908, under Fr. John B. Reiter. Dominated by bronze-domed twin towers, church is of German Romanesque influence.
 
Erected 1991 by Kentucky Historical Society and Kentucky Department of Highways. (Marker Number 1887.)
