1. Gun Embrasure Marker
Inscription. Ten separate granite block formed each gun embrasure. Granite could absorb the shock of enemy fire, and thus protect the troops within the fort's walls. The iron shutters on the outside of the embrasure were designed to shield the gun crews from grape shot.
