1. Bobby Murcer Marker
Inscription. Born in Oklahoma City, May 20, 1946. Bobby graduated from Southeast High School and is considered one of Oklahoma's greatest multi-sport athletes. He continued the New York Yankees tradition of great center fielders by joining his hero Mickey Mantle as a 19-year-old teammate in 1965. He spent 17 seasons in the big leagues. Considered one of the most popular players to wear the Yankee uniform, and the only one to span the Mantle-Maris & Thurman Munson years, and the Don Mattingly era. The Gold Glove-winning outfielder is one of the few players in history to hit four consecutive home runs (joining teammates Mantle and Lou Gehrig). A five-time All-Star, Bobby batted .331 and slugged .543 in 1971 (second in the league). Career high 33 home runs in 1972 and led the league in runs scored and total bases. In the top ten American League MVP voting in 1971 thru 1973. He also played for the San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs. Career total of 252 home runs. He played in the 1980-81 League Championship Series and 1981 World Series.

An Emmy award-winning Yankees broadcasting career followed his playing days. Bobby has served his community well, working with Children's Medical Research Institute, American Cancer Society and others. Bobby and his beautiful wife Kay, still live in Oklahoma City and have two children, Tori and Todd.
