This marker was originally along Main Street (LA Highway 110) and was knocked over by a vehicle or equipment. Listed as lost, the museum curator (Mrs. Winn) did some research and found the marker in storage in a State warehouse in Lake Charles. With the approval of the original marker sponsor, the marker was reinstalled on the Merryville Heritage Museum grounds, as you see it here.
