Powerful third baseman from North Carolina set Franchise record for Home Runs by a rookie (31) in 1964. He smashed 157 HR for San Francisco, hitting 23 or more each year from 1964-1968. Hart was the first San Francisco Giant to hit for cycle (Atlanta Fulton County Stadium, July 8, 1970). He batted .282 in 11 seasons with Giants.

"James Ray Hart (October 30, 1941 – May 19, 2016) was a third baseman in Major League Baseball. He played for the National League's San Francisco Giants from 1963 to 1973 and the American League's New York Yankees in 1973 and 1974. Hart batted and threw right-handed.
