1. Concord Railroad Depot Marker
Inscription. The railroad came to Concord in the 1850's and played an important role in industrial growth. The depot, shown in the lower image, was located on the east side of the railroad tracks near present-day Corban Ave SW. The structure is said to have been built in 1913 and suddenly demolished in 1978 while preservation was being discussed. It replaced the previous depot, shown in the middle image, which was ubilt on the west side of the railroad tracks where access from Concoord was frequently blocked by stopped trains.
