1. Kittilson & Brown Marker
Inscription. In the 1870's, Mr. Andrew Kittilson, a native of Norway lived in Los Angeles with his wife Myra. In 1882, they traveled to Menifee by horse-drawn wagon to homestead land. They filed on 160 acres plus an adjacent 160-acre timberculture claim. Andrew's wife, Myra, operated the valley's first post office here called Anon. In 1899, their daughter Norma married William Brown of Winchester. The Browns also raised their family at this location.
