Inscription.

Constructed of structural tile produced by Brookville's Humphrey Brick & Tile Co., this is the town's oldest remaining structure built [and] designed expressly for the automobile industry. Originally built for the Baker Buick Company, it later housed the Lakes-to-Sea Motor Co., named for the Lakes-to-Sea Highway (U.S. Route 322, which is Brookville's Main Street). One of several Main Street buildings erected by master builder Ray H. Richards. Acme Market occupied the building after 1942, and it later housed the A & P grocery store.
