Previously known as the Bull & Finch Pub, Cheers Beacon Hill's rise to stardom is a classic "Hollywood” story... only it happened in Boston!

Three producers were looking to create a sitcom about a neighborhood bar. One producer suggested Boston, where sports and politics were hot issues in the local watering holes. One afternoon, they dropped into the Bull & Finch Pub where they met bartender Eddie Doyle. After a beer, burger and chat with Eddie, they felt good about the Bull & Finch.

They visited half a dozen other Boston bars, then returned to the Pub, declaring, "This is the place!" They created the show, which they named Cheers. The rest is history.

The show premiered on September 30, 1982 and became one of the top-rated shows in TV history.

Erected 2011 by The Boston Beer Company.
