1. Lafayette County Marker
Inscription. The first court house in Lafayette County erected in 1828, was built of logs on Chickaninny Prairie. In 1840 a new town site for the county seat was laid off at the place to which was given the name of Lewisville.
 
Erected 1936 by Arkansas Centennial Commission and Arkansas History Commission. (Marker Number C-18.)
