Inscription. Beulah Hubbard School was established on this site in 1929. The school was the consolidation of Beulah, Witt, Oakland, Rock Branch, Little Rock, Hebron, Greenland, Hopewell, Center Ridge, Duffee and Battlefield schools. The school’s name refers to nearby Beulah Baptist Church, established in 1850, and to F.J. Hubbard, who was the state director of vocational education when the school was established. After serving as the focal point of the community for sixty years, the school closed in 1990.
