1. The Daniels House Marker

The Daniels House. . This modest Victorian syle house was built in 1894. Early residents included Harry B. Daniels of the American Tailoring Company, Charles Childs, executive of The Flint Wagon Works and Buick Motor Company, and John Hoyle a worker at the Freeman Dairy. At times through its history, the home also served as a boarding house with residents including an osteopath, a spring-makers, and a salesman at the Jewel Tea Company. At mid-century Alfred Anderson, manager of the Eagles Recreation Blub and factory worker at Buick resided here with his wife Irene as did Edward and Blanche Hanson; Edward was a foreman at Bancroft Truck Company. In 1981 the house was divided into three distinct apartments, and was eventually left vacant in the 1990s. At the turn of the century the house was converted back to a single-family dwelling. , The aging concrete step at the curb is a remnant of the era of the horse-drawn carriage and the roses on the front fence have bloomed here since the 1920's.
