LaCoste National Bank
The LaCoste National Bank was founded in March of 1912 with a capital stock investment of $25,000. The original staff was made up of: Joseph Conrad, president; Emil Schmidt, vice-president; and H.C. Heilig, cashier. By 1916 the bank's total assets exceeded $250,000. The bank remained solvent through the years due to conservative banking practices and the support of the local community. The bank provided structure to the explosive economy of a bustling railroad community and through the years of drought and recession the bank aided farmers, ranchers, rail men and families with the kindness and understanding that only a small town bank can provide. The LaCoste National Bank was purchased in 2010 by the Community National Bank, Hondo.
