Arkansas's first All-American in football was born in Pocahontas on this place, graduated from PHS and the U. of Arkansas at Fayetteville, accomplishing much both academically and in sports.

Schoonover was also 2nd team All-American in basketball and lettered baseball and track in college. He maintained a 3.85 GPA throughout college and was elected President of his senior class.

After graduation, he earned a law degree at Arkansas and starred in a Hollywood movie, Maybe It's Love.

He retained most of the Razorback's receiving records for many decades, once catching 13 passes in a single game.
