This post-World War II building exemplifies progressive architectural ideals as practiced by one of Chicago's most eclectic and innovative architects of the late 20th century. Weese combined modernist design with references to past architecture, highly unusual and inventive in the context of 1950s-era high-rise design. His use of projecting window bays derived from late 19th-century Chicago School buildings. while the building's deep-red brick cladding, suggesting visual warmth and unpretentiousness, reflects his interest in Scandinavian modernism.
